Subtitle: Language, Compiler and Advanced Data Structure Supportfor Parallel I/O Operations
Abstract: The goal of this project in the area of highly parallel mass storage systems is to provide an efficient I/O framework for high performance languages, e.g. the Vienna FORTRAN language. The planned research and development effort includes work at various levels (language, compiler and runtime support). The central component of this project is a novel runtime module referred to as (Vienna Parallel Input/Output System), which is developed using data engineering know-how.
